    Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak announces where they think Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is; a Chicago train derailment injures over 30 people; Ukraine orders troop removal from Crimea; dozens are still missing in Washington; and over 500 Muslim Brotherhood supporters have been sentenced to death in Egypt. Meanwhile; That ‘70s Show engaged costars Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have some exciting news; a Disney fan theory rocks the internet; and Jimmy Kimmel creates another awesome selfie with political help.

    On Monday, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said that missing Flight 370 has gone down over the southern part of the Indian Ocean, ending all hopes that some people on the flight might have survived. The prime minister has asked reporters to give the families their privacy. British satellites analyzed the data captured over the southern Indian Ocean that led to this conclusion. Both Australian and Chinese officials had spotted debris earlier Monday in the same area. Satellites and searches continued to be trained in that area until more leads to the missing flight are found.

    At around 2:55am this morning, a, eight-car passenger train derailed at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The train was pulling into the station and apparently failed to stop because it was going faster than it should have been; it then jumped off of the rails and hit the escalator. Larry Langford, a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department, said that six people were seriously injured and twenty-six other passengers suffered lesser injuries.

    Eight people have been confirmed to have been killed in the mudslide that hit Snohmish County, a rural county in Washington State, on Saturday. Dozens more are missing as the chance of rescue crews pulling more survivors has dwindled. 30 homes have been destroyed and the numbers of critically injured people are also increasing. Rescuers had hope Saturday night when they heard voices coming from the debris field, but darkness coupled with dangerous conditions forced rescue workers to forfeit efforts; the next morning, the voices had stopped. Searches will continue until all missing people are accounted for.

    Ukraine orders Crimea troop withdrawal as Russia seizes naval base: http://rtvote.com/1h1BKXv
    Oleksndr Turchynov, the temporary interim Ukrainian president, ordered Ukrainian military forces to leave the Crimea region, believing that Russian forces in the region could potentially harm or threaten Ukrainian troops and their relatives. Russia has conquered most of the military bases in the region after annexing Crimea last week. Military personnel and their families will be evacuated. NATO is beginning to express concern over the growth of Russian military presence on the boarder of Ukraine, believing it could threaten other areas in the region.

    528 Muslim Brotherhood supporters sentenced to death in Egypt: http://rtvote.com/1hg3zYj
    On Monday, 528 (or 529, as reported by some Egyptian media) Muslim Brotherhood supporters have been sentenced to death by an Egyptian court. The charges include violent riots in Minya, a city in Egypt, that occurred in August 2013 and included the death of a police officer. Ousted President Mohammed Morsey’s supporters had staged sit-ins that turned into riots after security forces got involved. These death sentences make up the most death sentences handed out in one set in modern Egyptian history according to the news site Ahram Online.

    Victims as young as age 13 were rescued in a nationwide sex-trafficking crackdown across over 70 cities. More than 100 teenagers were rescued, and 159 “pimps” were arrested. This was “the FBI’s largest action to date focusing on the recovery of sexually exploited children.”

    After passing the state Senate and House earlier in July, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory signed an anti-abortion bill into law on Monday. The bill eliminates abortion coverage for those covered by State or Federal health plans, imposes regulations on abortion clinics, and bans sex-selective abortions. During his campaign for Governor last year, McCrory said he would not pass additional restrictions on abortion.

    The influence of young voters is expected to be significant in tomorrow’s presidential election in Zimbabwe. In the first round of elections, neither candidate won a large enough margin of votes, thus leading to a second vote. Leading up to this second round, nearly 750,000 new voters have been registered (the country’s population is approximately 13 million). A representative of the Election Resource Centre says that “the winner will be whoever captures the new youth voters.”

    Former Chinese Communist Party leader, Bo Xilai, has been indicted for charges of bribery, corruption and abuse of power. This comes over a year after Mr. Bo was removed from office after accusations “of taking about $3.3 million in bribes, [and] embezzling almost $1 million.” His wife also murdered British business executive Neil Heywood in 2011, for which she was given a suspended death sentence.

    Federal prosecutors Thursday, announced criminal charges against SAC Capital, citing “institutional practices” that allowed employee insider-trading to take place. The government charged the famed hedge fund with wire fraud and four counts of securities fraud. Charges against the firm could mark the end of SAC, which has already seen investors steadily pull out their money after previous legal troubles.

    In a 217-205 vote on Wednesday, the House of Representatives decided against a plan to end the wiretapping program leaked by Edward Snowden. The plan would have allowed the NSA to collect phone records only for individuals connected to ongoing investigations.

    In light of last month’s Supreme Court decision on the Voting Rights Act, Attorney General Eric Holder takes steps to protect voters in Texas against voting discrimination. Holder announced to the Urban League in Philadelphia that the Justice department will ask a federal court in San Antonio to mandate the state to obtain pre-approval before making changes to voting laws.
