Pitfall of working for Amazon: Mental illness?http://rtvote.com/17U5oM7
Who doesn’t love Amazon?! Apparently, some of their workers. BBC launched an investigation into Amazon employees’ working conditions, wherein one of their undercover reporters worked the night shift in a U.K. Amazon warehouse. The reporter said he walked 11 miles in one shift, and an expert claims that such working conditions increase the risk of mental illness.

After Iran nuclear deal, tough challenges aheadhttp://rtvote.com/182tY8g
A historic nuclear agreement with Iran has been signed, but don’t celebrate just yet! The situation is still as fragile as ever, as evidenced by the parties’ clash on Sunday over a key element of the deal and congressional skeptics’ threat to strike down the deal. The accord’s conditions include a six-month freeze on Iran’s nuclear program, daily monitoring by international inspectors, and a promise to not finish construction of a heavy-water reactor that could provide Iran with a source of plutonium for a nuclear bomb.

Rajesh and Nupur Talwar guilty of Aarushi and Hemraj murders,http://rtvote.com/18jsLPD
In 2008, Aarushi Talwar, 14, and Hemraj, a domestic servant for the Talwar family, were found dead. Aarushi’s throat was slit, and she had also suffered a fatal head injury; Hemraj’s dead body was found on the roof of the Talwar house. After a five-and-a-half-year investigation, the parents of Aarushi have been convicted of the murders. Although Rajesh and Nupur Talwar are still denying guilt, prosecutors claimed the parents killed their child when they found her in a “compromising situation” with Hemraj.

    CRUCIAL:

Senate Immigration Reform Bill Passes With Strong Majority, http://rtvote.com/17HwrK6
The U.S. Senate passed a bipartisan immigration reform bill Thursday. The bill if it were to pass through the House would grant citizenship to about 11 million undocumented immigrants. The bill passed 68 to 32 in the Senate.

Ex-Pentagon general target of leak investigation, sources say, http://rtvote.com/11NylVb
The Justice Department is undergoing an investigation into a leak of classified information about a clandestine U.S. cyber attack on Iran’s nuclear program. Retired Marine Gen. James “Hoss” Cartwright, former vice chairmen of the Join Chiefs of Staff, has received a target letter informing him of the investigation regarding the leak under his watch. He is the ninth individual to be targeted by the Obama administration for violating the Espionage Act.

Former Patriots player Aaron Hernandez is probed in two more murders, law enforcement officials say, http://rtvote.com/18kyEuw
Aaron Hernandez, the former Patriots player charged with murdering friend Odin Lloyd, has been recently linked to two more murders. Officials are investigating the case of a double murder of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado, who were killed in a North Attleborough industrial park June 17. Officials claim that Odin Lloyd may have been able to provide information on this investigation regarding Hernandez’s potential role in the murder.

Restricted web access to The Guardian is Armywide, officials say, http://rtvote.com/14CaWoi
The U.S. Army admitted Thursday to restricting access to The Guardian news website. The restriction of access was in response to The Guardian leaking stories on data collection by the NSA. The Army is calling the restriction “network hygiene.”

Chris Christie says he would still veto gay marriage bill, http://rtvote.com/18kCa83
Governor Chris Christie said he would veto a same-sex marriage bill if it ever reached his desk. He claims the Supreme Court’s ruling on Wednesday, striking down a ban on federal benefits for same-sex married couples, will have no effect on New Jersey, a state where civil unions already exist. He stands with the idea that we should “let the people decide,” instead of the federal government ruling for them.

Chick-fil-A CEO: ‘Founding Fathers Would Be Ashamed’ Of Supreme Court Ruling, http://rtvote.com/14CcQoY
The president of Chick-fil-A Dan Cathy tweeted a message in opposition to the Supreme Court ruling on DOMA Wednesday. He tweeted: “Sad day for our nation; founding fathers would be ashamed of our gen. to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies.” The tweet was later deleted. Chick-fil-A has refused to comment on the statement, claiming that they are “leaving political decisions and discussions to others” and focusing on running their business.

U.K. may OK creating babies with DNA from 3 people, http://rtvote.com/14Cc7UC
Britain is on its way to allowing the creation of babies using DNA from three people. This controversial medical technique would prevent passing on rare genetic diseases and disorders to their children. For instance, in Britain one in every 200 babies is born with a mitochondrial disorder from faulty mitochondria in the mothers’ eggs. Some similar research is also taking place in the U.S., but the embryos are not yet being used to produce offspring.
