    The United States may have had more of a hand in the Middle East uprisings than has been previously reported, Georgia may be following in Arizona’s footsteps to pass a law that will allow police to question suspects on their immigration status, and Republican donors are hesitant to back any of the emerging candidates with no superstars having emerged from the GOP. Meanwhile, Facebook wants to promote its relationship with journalists and news outlets in order to compete with twitter, and is going to great lengths to do so, and T-Swift shells out big bucks for a house for mom and pop.

    Many of those who led uprisings across the Middle East were trained by American organizations financed by the government. These groups cause some problems in relations between the US and Middle Eastern nations, as many Middle Eastern leaders felt as though their authority was being threatened.

    59 Republicans opposed the spending cuts Boehner proposed, saying that it simply isn’t enough, making it clear that Boehner has a hard road ahead. Boehner himself said that he agreed the cuts weren’t perfect, but that progress was being made.

    Barack Obama, as well as the British Prime Minister and French President have all agreed that action must continue to be taken in Libya until Gadhafi is gone. The city of Misrata, which is being held by Gaghafi and his forces is a major area of concern, as many have been killed.

    Under the new Georgia law, Police will be able to allowed to question “check the immigration status of ‘criminal’ suspects.” The law will now make its way to the Georgia Governor, and whether or not it will be signed is not clear. The governor’s campaign centered on the issue, saying that he would pass a law similar to this one, however since election his views have shifted towards protecting businesses.

    President Obama has set a lofty goal of contacting every person who voted for him in 2008 and is putting together an enormous team of volunteers to aid in the process. Social media will also be a prominent part of the president’s reelection strategy, as was demonstrated by his first video release.

    President Obama stood with his party in budget talks yesterday, declaring that he will increase taxes on the wealthy and maintain Medicare and Medicaid, leading Karl Rove to believe that his strong stance will benefit the Republican party. Meanwhile, the FAA announced that the 5th time’s the charm and after many have snoozed on the job they will no longer have just one air traffic controller on overnight shifts, CA Representative Karen Bass is upping her techie street cred by bring QR codes to the capital, Oprah might not be outright endorsing Obama, but he will appear on one of her final shows and last but certainly not least, Rebecca Black’s Friday is coming to GLEE.

    President Obama took a clearly partisan stance in his proposed alternative to the budget presented by Republicans. His plan would utilize spending cuts, tax increases and changes to welfare programs, although he defended Medicare and Medicaid along party lines, to reduce the federal budget deficits by $4 trillion over 12 years.

    In today’s news, President Obama plans to address the nation about the deficit on Wednesday which will keep the subject front and center. In other eye-popping news, everyone’s favorite “Runaway General” McChrystal makes a comeback to public life by leading an initiative that will help the president and Mrs. Obama support military families, meanwhile Tim Pawlenty’s aggressive targeting of potential young voters gets a boost as he hires 28-year-old Nick Ayers for the big job of managing his campaign.

    Elsewhere, Facebook is headed to China (will they experience the same political woes that Google did?), Natalie Portman goes un-vegan, Charl Schwartzel out-puts Tiger et al. to win the Masters, and Rhianna finds another famous collaborator after last week’s American Country Music Awards in Britney Spears.

    President Obama will speak about the deficit on Wednesday, after remaining quiet for some time. He plans to lay out his goals of increasing taxes for the wealthy, reducing defense spending, and cutting from both Medicare and Medicaid.

    Obama asked General Stanley A.     After the law banning the niqab, a veil worn by a small group of Muslim women that reveals only their eyes, took affect in France today many women came out in protest, and some were taken by the police for participating in an unauthorized protest. Veiled women can be charged up to $215, and people who force women to wear the veil will pay a much heftier fee.

    Zuckerberg has made a deal with China’s largest search engine to develop a a website that will meet censorship laws in China. A number of problems exist with the creation, such as who will monitor posts and status updates, how this will be handled remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, Oprah will not publicly campaign for Obama in 2012, it’s discovered that human error made the Wisconsin Supreme Court race appear much closer than it was, guns could be allowed on Arizona college campuses after a new law passed the state House, and MTV orders – not one, but two! – Jersey Shore spin offs.

    If no deal is reached by midnight tonight the government will shut down. $5 Billion dollars, which is one half of one percent of the total budget is preventing a budget deal. More than 800,000 federal workers have been prepped for what to do in the event the deal isn’t sealed today.

    Waukesha County Clerk blamed herself for the errors that occurred in computing the number of votes for the candidates in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, which was thought to be extremely close until further analysis revealed that Prosser won by 7,500 votes. The clerk was asked to update the methods before the election, but instead chose to keep the records on her personal computer.

    If the Arizona Governor passes a law allowing guns to be carried, both concealed and openly, on college campuses it will be the second state to specify this right.

    A new report showing the age at which kids have their first drink shows that by age 15 more than half of kids have had alcohol. 25% of students have had a drink as early as age 12.

    Will the government shut down tomorrow? Talks are growing more serious with still no agreement to be seen. Tragically, another strong aftershock earthquake hits Japan, and a tsunami is expected to follow. Meanwhile, Matt Lauer and Meredith Viera are expected to leave their respective positions on The Today Show, YouTube is planning a site overhaul and Tina Fey announces baby number two.

    After what some thought was failing to be involved enough in budget talks, Obama invited both Senate and House leadership to work towards a deal in the Oval Office last night.  He has become more vocal in recent days about the urgency of the budget crisis, saying there is “no reason why we should have a government shutdown”.  However, Congress has as of yet failed to reach a deal for the budget proposal.

    In one of the most highly publicized judicial races in recent memory, the Democratic-backed JoAnne Kloppenburg seems to have won victory by a slim margin of 204 votes.  This election is important because it may influence whether or not the Wisconsin Supreme Court to overturn the state’s new collective bargaining law.  The opposition has 3 days to decide whether to ask for a recount.

    The latest earthquake hit Japan is being called a strong aftershock and hit near Honshu. Waves of up to 2 meters have been spotted, and a Tsunami is expected to follow.

    Tobacco companies in Australia will be forced to strip all logos from their cigarette packages and replace them with graphic images such as cancer-riddled mouths and sickly children under legislation unveiled Thursday, which the government says will make Australia the world’s toughest country on tobacco advertising.
