    CRUCIAL:

12 dead in Colorado theater shooting, http://apne.ws/Q9wCVM
Twelve people were killed and at least 50 more wounded when a masked gunman opened fire in a movie theater at a midnight showing of the new Batman film, “The Dark Knight Rises,” in suburban Denver last night. Many moviegoers thought the attack was a stunt for the show. Some children have been counted as victims, including a 3-month-old infant who was injured and a 6-year old who was killed. Federal law enforcement took former 24-year-old medical student James Holmes into custody, though authorities did not release a motive. Holmes also spoke of potential explosives in his residence, the presence of which have been confirmed. This is the most devastating shooting in Colorado since the Columbine School Massacre on April 20, 1999.

George Zimmerman Prosecution May Use TV Interview as Evidence, http://abcn.ws/QgyEST
George Zimmerman’s television interview, in which he said his killing of Trayvon Martin was all “part of God’s plan,” has been submitted as possible evidence in his upcoming second-degree murder trial. Among other things, Zimmerman told Fox News that he did not regret carrying a gun or pursuing 17-year-old Martin, but he does wish he were in another position that didn’t require taking Martin’s life. Some legal analysts suspect Zimmerman may be disregarding his lawyer’s advice, as he “impeached himself publicly” in the interview.

US military allowed to wear uniforms at gay pride march, http://bbc.in/Mzn70O
United States military service members have been granted approval to wear their uniforms in this year’s Gay Pride Parade in San Diego, California. The permission comes after the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” last year. It is also conditional that the service members adhere to U.S. Military standards on uniform wear. Dwayne Crenshaw, executive director of San Diego LGBT Pride said this is a “giant leap” in the right direction.
