Approval Rating for Justices Hits Just 44% in New Poll, http://nyti.ms/LsMjUI
A survey conducted by The New York Times and CBS News shows that only 44 percent of Americans approve of the way the Supreme Court is making its decisions. 75 percent believe the justices’ decisions may be influenced by personal or political views. The Supreme Court’s approval rating has been declining since the late 80s.

Suicides are surging among US troops, http://apne.ws/MsmmjA
In the first 155 days this year, 154 active-service soldiers have committed suicide. This number is about 50 percent higher than the number of US troops killed in action. Suicides had leveled off in 2010 and 2011, and experts are unsure of the upswing’s cause. The 2012 numbers through June 3 compare to 130 suicides at the same time last year, an 18 percent increase

    1. shoeless says:

Teacher tells graduates that they are not quite as “special” as they think:

“Yes, you’ve been pampered, cosseted, doted upon, helmeted, bubble-wrapped,” McCullough said in his speech. “Yes, capable adults with other things to do have held you, kissed you, fed you, wiped your mouth, wiped your bottom, trained you, taught you, tutored you, coached you, listened to you, counseled you, encouraged you, consoled you and encouraged you again. You’ve been nudged, cajoled, wheedled and implored. You’ve been feted and fawned over and called sweetie pie. … But do not get the idea you’re anything special. Because you’re not.”

    2. Who’s got their paws in the honey pot, the money pot, the pot of gold? Say a prayer and do a little dance to save your homes before they’re sold. The liberals are uptight now, getting their panties all in a wad…Could choose to not wear any, but would you ride a horse that wasn’t shod?

Hey you, over there in the corner! I wouldn’t laugh if I were you…Conservatives are as much to blame; you had your hand in this stew too! Grandma always said that too many cooks would spoil the broth, but hot damn! Do you really believe you’re less to blame than he is, she is, I am?

We’ll never find a solution if we just stand here, placing the blame. We can’t get a different outcome if all our actions remain the same. Only way to effect change is do away with the finger pointing, and be a bit more discerning on whose head we do the anointing…

Men were born to lead, but only sheep and lemmings were made to follow. Well I’m no sheep! All those campaign promises are too hard to swallow. Rock the cradle, rock the airwaves, rock the foundation and rock the boat! If you REALLY want to have your say, get off your ass and rock the vote!
