As more images and stories come out of Haiti we are seeing the true devastation of this disaster. We are working with our friend Wyclef Jean to collect needed donations to support relief efforts. Through his organization Yele Haiti he has set up the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund. Please give what you can – every dollar helps right now.

Dear friend,

There is so much devastation and suffering caused by Tuesday’s earthquake in my native home of Haiti. Over 3 million people impacted. The death toll is still unknown but estimated to be thousands. All this in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

Your help is desperately needed. The most important thing you can do is contribute to relief efforts. That is why I have set up the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund. If you are able, please make a contribution now. You can text “Yele” to 501501 to donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund (it will be charged to your cell phone bill) or you can visit www.yele.org and click ‘donate’.

This crisis in Haiti is a powerful reminder that we must live life for others, not forgetting about those around us. So I am also asking you to get involved with this Monday’s Martin Luther King Jr National Day of Service.
