Hundreds of you submitted designs for our t-shirt contest. They were amazing, funny, inspiring and all around awesome. Our celebrity judges, N*E*R*D, Andrew W.K., DJ Skee and Chester French were digging through so many entries we were a day late in announcing the finalists, but we got ‘em, so drumroll please…..

Now comes the fun part. It’s up to YOU to decide who the winner is. Pick a favorite and vote. Then send this around to your friends, your family, your co-workers, your classmates – whomever! We take online votes and votes by mobile.
The winner will be featured in our store and win a Rock the Vote prize pack…but the real prize is that we are showing our visible support for a reform who’s time has come.
Happy voting!

All that I can say is that I am highly disappointed in these results on many levels. First I am amazed that an entry that was submitted PASSED THE DEADLINE could remain eligible to be considered a finalist. Especially when others like myself who found out about the competition the day of deadline managed to put together high-end professional quality designs.
Secondly because the results were announced TWO days late.
And third, three of the five finalist can not even be found in the submission list from ARTST.com which baffles me even further. The majority of the minority finalist didn’t submit their artwork properly???
As a voter and participant I demand a recount. I demand that all late and invalid entries be disqualified based simply on their inability to adhere to the contest rules. I have no quarrel with the art that was chosen because I believe in the subjectivity of what is “good design” how ever I do believe in fairness and equality. To accept these 5 designs as finalist would be unfair to all the other participants who went out of their way to support Rock The Vote through the systems anf partnerships Rock The Vote has created.
It would be like me voting for Obama last Nov. but John McCain Winning in December because a bunch of old lazy republicans decided to vote late, twice.

Hi Xavier,
We accepted submissions from both rockthevote.com and artst.com. The judges chose three that were submitted through Rock the Vote and two from Artst.com. At Rock the Vote we shut down voting the night of August 28th so anyone who tried to submit got this: http://www.rockthevote.com/issues/issue-actions/health-care-design-contest.html.
As for being late – yep, that’s our fault. We simply did not judge how long it would take to sort through hundreds of submissions. Sorry about that.
We got so many excellent entries, but we let our judges pick. I’m sorry if your’s wasn’t pick but I have no doubt it was great.

Thank you for the expedient reply but that does not negate the fact that an ineligible submission was considered and chosen as a finalist. I feel that the submissions should be reconsidered with all invalid entries removed from the pool as an order of fairness to all participants not just myself. As a designer weather I win or not I have gained experience from the creation of my submission but as a participant I have been jipped because I sacrificed time and effort to produce a product with in a given time constraint while others disobeyed and were still rewarded.
Its not about winning and losing but being fair.
I wouldn’t wear any of these. I think they are ghastly.
I agree with comment #1 3 of the designs were not even on Artst and the ones that were, were turned in 2 days passed the dead line(I would know I am on artst.com and i made the top 5). This contest is a JOKE! who wants a fuckin prize pack anyway!, thats all you can give us is a damn prize pack, while you guys make thousands of dollars of the winning design. This is the last time i ever do anything for this stupid ass website.!!!!!!!
