Want to argue with a table?

    Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) clearly doesn’t.  This exchange with a woman at a townhall meeting in his district is classic.  She compares President Obama’s plan to make health care more affordable to the Nazi’s – and amen to Mr. Frank, he actually responds with what should be responded to a question like that. Check it out for yourself:

Having a reasonable debate about this important issue is a good thing, it’s downright American – but I have to agree with the Congressman on this one, comparing the President to Nazi’s is a cheap shot and doesn’t allow for any meaningful debate.

Find out what’s really going on with the health care debate. This affects all of us, especially us younger folks, and I for one want to see a debate that is honest and allows us to come up with the best solution.

    Baby-sitting for Braces?

    Monday, August 17th, 2009

Can’t afford health insurance?  What do you have to trade?  In communities around the country there is a phenomenon where by patients barder a service for medical care. Can’t afford your braces because you don’t have dental insurance?  That’s alright, give the orthodontist some free babysitting time.

This to me is ridiculous – the fact that our system is so screwed you have to trade your way towards something that should be a right, not a privilege.  On the flip side, I guess it’s a good thing that there are some doctors out there who are willing to do this so individuals have at least some access to the system…but still.

Find out what’s going on with this whole debate and why it’s so important.

And then take action.  We have to fix this broken system.

    Maybe if they shout louder…

    Thursday, August 13th, 2009

A new Gallup poll shows that 67 percent of Americans are unmoved by or less sympathetic to opponents of health reform as a result of their extreme rhetoric and tactics. Shocker. I can’t believe that comparing Obama to Hitler and spray painting swastikas on signs in front of a Congressman’s office isn’t generating sympathy for the cause.

As the noise gets louder and the distortions get distortier, we are not going to let our voices get drowned out. Make your voice heard. Click here to demand health care now.

    DON’T TAKE MY DONUTS!

    Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

What do donuts and the debate around health care reform have in common? The Government will BAN donuts if we pass health care reform. Seriously, check it out.

Ok, we all know that’s ridiculous and there’s a lot of mis-information and scare tactics floating around about what this reform actually means.  There are town hall meetings happening where people are doing outrageous things.  It’s mayhem!

But here’s the deal, we need to keep the debate going and make sure that we are talking about how to fix a broken system.  Young people are the least insured age group out there, we get saddled with debt …it’s a mess.

Check out our health care page to find out more.
