In Time Magazine’s latest poll Stewart topped the list as the most trusted newsman with nearly half of the vote. He was matched up against Brian Williams, Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson. Williams reined in second place with 29% of the vote. Although if you saw Williams on the Daily Show earlier this week, he clearly can hold his own with Stewart:

It doesn’t trouble me as much as I would expect. John Stewart focuses more on politics than these other news sources. The others focus on news, not just politics. I find that they fail to dig deep (or even into the second layer) of politics and therefore, their coverage fails to explain what is really going on.
Stewart, on the other hand, covers politics a great deal. So I think it is a good sign!
Do I care that it’s satire and not news? Eh, you still learn things amongst the hilarity.
