No one is putting a gun to your head to fill out the credit card application, and if you take out a credit card you certainly have no one but yourself to blame if you run up charges you can't pay back. Stop looking to someone else to pay off your bad decisions, start acting like adults (18-21 year olds acting responsibly?! gasp!!) and quit looking to government to bail you out when you default on your fiscal obligations.

As far as financial aid goes, the ballooning price tag of college is a direct result of having too much "free" money in the market in the form of government secured loans and grants. What do you think the thousands of colleges across this nation will do once they start loosing attendance to community colleges? Prices will drop. Of course, since I'm preaching free market economics to 20-somethings I not expecting my post to resonate with many on this blog.
